Amistad Insurance ("Amistad," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This page explains what information we collect through our website at www.amistad.com (the "Site"), our online forms, and our website chat assistant, how we use and share it, the choices you have, and the terms that apply to our text-messaging program. By using the Site or submitting information through it, you agree to this Policy and, if you opt in to texts, to the SMS Terms below.

This page covers our website and online services. If you use a separate Amistad mobile application, a different policy may apply to that app.

Part 1 — Privacy Policy

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly when you use our forms, request a quote, file or report a claim, contact us, or interact with our chat assistant. Depending on what you do, this may include:

  • Contact details — name, email address, phone number, and your preferred method of contact (call, text, or either).
  • Insurance and quote details — type of coverage requested, current insurance carrier, whether you are an existing customer, business or vehicle information, and how you heard about us.
  • Claim information — policyholder name, policy number, date/time and description of a loss, parties or injuries involved, vehicle and incident details, police report information, addresses and phone numbers, and any photos or documents you choose to upload.
  • Chat assistant conversations — messages you send to our website chat assistant and any contact details you provide there.
  • Automatically collected data — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and similar usage data collected through cookies and analytics tools (including Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics).

How We Collect Information

We collect information directly from you when you complete a form or chat with our assistant, and automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you browse the Site. We do not knowingly collect more information than we need to respond to your request.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiries, prepare insurance quotes, and service requests or claims;
  • Contact you by phone, email, or text message (where you have consented to texts) about your request, quote, policy, or, where permitted, promotions;
  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and our chat assistant;
  • Comply with legal, regulatory, and insurance-related obligations; and
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, security, or technical issues.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide our services and as described here:

  • Insurance carriers and quoting partners — to prepare quotes and place or service coverage, we share relevant information with insurance carriers and our quoting platform(s) (for example, our online quoting provider).
  • Service providers — vendors who host the Site, deliver messages, provide analytics, or otherwise support our operations, under agreements that limit their use of your information.
  • Legal and safety — when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Amistad, our customers, or others.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in and consent data is not shared with third parties for their marketing, except service providers that help us deliver our messages on our behalf. AI Chat Assistant

Our Site offers an automated chat assistant ("Smart Insurance Assistant" / "SIA") to help answer common questions and route inquiries. Conversations may be processed and stored for up to 12 months to operate and improve the assistant. Information you share in chat is handled like other form submissions described here and may be processed by our chat technology provider on our behalf. The assistant provides general information only, its responses are automated and may be inaccurate, and nothing it says is binding insurance advice. Please do not enter sensitive information (such as Social Security numbers, full account or policy numbers, payment card details, or health information) into the chat. For account-specific or binding matters, please speak with a licensed Amistad representative.

Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, and understand how the Site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings. We use Google Tag Manager and analytics tools that may set cookies; these help us measure and improve Site performance.

Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, to provide our services, and to meet legal, regulatory, and insurance recordkeeping obligations, after which we delete or de-identify it.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we collect. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices and Rights

You may:

  • Update or correct information you have submitted by contacting us;
  • Opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP, or of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link;
  • Request access to or deletion of personal information we hold, subject to applicable law (including, where applicable, the Florida Digital Bill of Rights and other state privacy laws).

Children’s Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Part 2 — SMS / Text Messaging Terms

These SMS Terms describe Amistad Insurance's text-messaging program and apply when you opt in to receive text messages from us.

  1. Program Description

    When you provide your mobile number and opt in, Amistad Insurance may send recurring text messages, which may include: quote follow-ups, policy and account notifications, appointment or service reminders, claim-related updates, and — where you have agreed — promotional and marketing offers. Messages may be sent using automated technology.

  2. Consent Is Voluntary

    Your consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any property, goods, or services. You can request a quote or service by phone or email without opting in to texts.

  3. Message Frequency

    Message frequency varies based on your interactions with us and the type of messages you have opted into. [Optional: state a cap if your platform enforces one, e.g., "up to [X] messages per month."]

  4. Message and Data Rates

    Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier plan. Amistad is not responsible for charges from your wireless carrier. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

    You can cancel the text-messaging service at any time by texting STOP to the number from which you received our messages. After you send STOP, we will send a one-time confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and you will not receive further texts unless you opt in again. You may also opt out by contacting us by phone or email; we will honor opt-out requests made by any reasonable method.
